Waukesha® Metal Products, FIRST® LEGO® League, and Junior FIRST® LEGO League all share a view on creating awareness of manufacturing and science along with its capabilities to all ages. FIRST® LEGO® League is a robotics program that’s mission is to excite children ages 9 to 14 about science and technology while also teaching valuable life and employment skills. Junior FIRST® LEGO League focuses on capturing children’s curiosity ages 6 to 9 and directing it towards discoveries and possibilities around them in the world of engineering and science. Waukesha® Metal Products takes opportunities to educate students on the benefits of manufacturing and provides in-house training programs to those interested. Along with partnerships at local middle schools, high schools, and colleges, Waukesha® Metal Products also provides mentorship programs to those hoping to attain a career in manufacturing.

On Tuesday, March 19, Waukesha® Metal Products welcomed six students from Wilson Elementary involved in the Junior FIRST® LEGO® League to the Fabrication facility in Grafton, WI. The students and their parents toured the facility with President/CEO Jeff Clark and Operations Manager Peter Skaalen learning the different processes of the facility. Students were able to see how different machines operated, the process of those operations, and what was produced. Along with the company tour, Waukesha® Metal Products also donated $500 to the Wilson Elementary team to help in funding their trip to Saint Louis, MO for the Jr. FLL Challenge.

From humble beginnings as a two man tool and die shop, Waukesha® Metal Products has developed into an international full-service metalforming manufacturer, delivering the best-value parts and assemblies in the industry since 1971.
