Job Purpose: Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process, complies, and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

Essential Job Functions:
• Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards
• Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities, such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics
• Program and operation of CMM
• In-process floor inspection
• Involvement in the APQP and Product Launch Process coordination between Quality, Program Management and Production
• Complete layouts per PPAP requirements
• Knowledge of ISO Standards and procedures
• Return Material Authorizations & Corrective Actions
• Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment adaptability.
• Ability to monitor machine to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
• Follow all company policies and procedures as applicable to position
• Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures (5S)
• Understand and follow health, safety, security, quality, and environmental practices

Non-essential Job Functions:
• Travel May be required
• Other task, duties, and responsibilities as requested by the QA Manager or other member of management

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
• Must be 18 years of age of older
• Requires a high school diploma, or equivalent
• ASQ Certification preferred
• CMM experience preferred
• 2 years of related manufacturing experience

Abilities, Skills and Knowledge:
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
• Ability to use measuring instruments,(micrometers, calipers) test sets, and gauging equipment
• Ability to read customer drawings and specifications
• Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions
• Ability to perform basic math functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions, tolerance, etc.
• Ability to operate computer and working knowledge of typical office programs – i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
• Knowledge of Quality Standards

Physical Demands:
• Required to stand, walk, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch
• Occasionally required to sit
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls

Training Requirements:
• Training requirements as applicable to the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System

Work Environment:
• Primary work is performed in manufacturing area
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
• Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts
• Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids

Protective Equipment Required:
• Steel-toed work shoes
• Ear plugs
• Safety glasses with side shields
