San Luis Potosí, MX — Waukesha® Metal Products de Mexico was certified to the ISO/TS 16949 standards by NSF-ISR.
The ISO/TS 16949 includes the ISO 9001 standard and adds supplementary requirements that apply specifically to the automotive industry. The audit was conducted by NSF-ISR at Waukesha® Metal Products’ San Luis Potosí facility in Mexico in February 2015 and was completed successfully in April 2015. To maintain process improvements, surveillance audits are conducted once a year and certificates are renewed every 3 years. This addition to quality management’s capabilities allows Waukesha® Metal Products de Mexico to provide increased product performance and improved quality and cost efficiency as a Tier 2 supplier to the automotive industry.
Obtaining the ISO/TS 16949 certification was essential to Waukesha® Metal Products to best serve the automotive industry. These markets produce safety critical products, and Waukesha® Metal Products recognizes the crucial role quality plays in its manufacturing process.
Waukesha® Metal Products’ San Luis Potosí facility is expected to be awarded with the ISO 14001 environmental standard in February of 2016.
